Brand New:
Overseen in Athens

For years you've been watching your tongue so that what you say doesn't end up here. Now, you'll have to watch how you look. You never know who has a camera.

Here's the link

understanding temperature is not one of them

  • Fratty 1: All of this snow and shit better be gone when I get back from fucking spring break, man.
  • Fratty 2: It'll be over a week from now, so I'm pretty sure it'll all be gone.
  • Fratty 1: You never know man. Global warming does all kinds of crazy shit.

He understands climate change better than the title writer, apparently.

Unfortunately true. Global warming is the climate changing in weird ways out of the pattern we're used to. The only reason its called warming is because the average temperature of the world is going up.

I haven't read the article, but to summarise:

"Think for yourself. [References someone else's opinion]."

ok... said...
Or take into account articles reflecting different opinions concerning the subject. Whichever.

"differing opinions"? check your facts and do your research, dear. the US is the only "developed" country to my knowledge in which global warming is still considered a "political" and "opinion-based" issue rather than fact. we're also the only country whose politicians have openly paid off "scientists" to fake results on the global warming issue in order to further their own political/economic aspirations.

I bet you think evolution is a myth, too.

Uhh ok so the author of that fine piece of Pulitzer is not a scientist, so why would I give a shit about his -opinion- on scientific matters??

Seriously, I don't understand why it is any idiot with a type-box thinks he can refute what the vast majority of scientists have found. Newsflash: you're not a scientist either, so sit down, shut up, and let the experts do their job.

A whole 500 scientists!! WOW! I'm super impressed! And my mind has been completely changed. Oh, by the way, 45 of those 500 didn't even know they were included in the list, nor did they want to be. But still, 455 scientists!

Now to get the other, you know, 100,000 or so to get on the denier bandwagon!

03/11/2009, 2:01 PM

ok then. said...
Here's another 31,000... I'm sure I can get to your 100,000 mark by the end of the day.

actually, i'm giving up. There's no point arguing. If you dont want to believe that there are facts and scientific theories (unlike those against evolution, which are silly) which propose alternatives to popular belief then that's fine by me. And believe me, I do believe that the popular belief could be true... but I'm saddened that the argument now seems to be more so based in politics than anything else. Bipartisanship really is running this country straight into the ground.

fuck you, be a little more cautious about where you get your "news." if you're trying to justify your own overconsumption and lack of any non-utilitarian environmental ethic, you don't deserve to even comment on global warming.

Global warming causes extremes. That means super cold or extraordinarily hot. Droughts and what not are the consequences of these extremes.

who the hell would think it only meant getting warmer.

Why? said...
Why should there even be a debate? No one debates the existence of gravity. Th evidence is so obvious. I mean, do people not want to take responsibility for their actions and just want to ignore the problem? I think that is why there is a debate to begin with...
