Brand New:
Overseen in Athens

For years you've been watching your tongue so that what you say doesn't end up here. Now, you'll have to watch how you look. You never know who has a camera.

Here's the link

  • (Young student is standing on top of the stairs on Baldwin St. preaching the Bible)
  • Sorostitute: What is that guy doing up there?
  • Fratty: Oh he's just one of those God freaks.
  • Sorostitute: I'll give you twenty dollars to push him!

I always want to push the ones that stand on the wall by Park Hall. I thought they could only preach in the free speech area at Tate?

umm. yeah. said...
way to be tolerant, guys.

do you want to push them because they're preaching or because they're doing it outside of park?

I would push them because scaring us into chritianity is not what Jesus would do.

you can preach without "scaring" anybody. i mean, sure, we all know that brother micah is not using the best evangelical technique, but maybe this guy was just reading some passages or something. were you there?

That guy's pretty mean and incredibly arrogant.

I'dve pushed him.

The kid deserves to be pushed, just as I would if I started reading "On the Origin of Species" aloud on the Baptist Student Union steps.

I'd pay YOU twenty to do that.

as tempting as it may be... said...
no one deserves to be pushed... regardless of how ignorant or evangelical they may be. you'd just be stooping to their level of agression and irrationality.

next time he's there, someone should get up on the other side and start yelling the text of the US constitution.

which supports his right to do that.

I want to do it just because he left the free speech area. If I get in trouble for giving out condoms on the sidewalk and leaving the free speech area, he shouldn't be allowed to scream scripture and insulting things to students outside the free speech area.

And slightly because I'm pretty sure that screaming loudly at me that I am a slut for wearing a skirt that is above my knees, has literally nothing to do with God's intentions.

i totally understand where you're coming from, don't get me wrong.

i've never heard this guy preach. i'm not defending him or his beliefs, in particular. i'm just defending his right to be there without people threatening him. that's all.

Technically he has a right to be in the free speech area at Tate, not standing on the wall by Park Hall(like the wall surrounding those stairs), or elsewhere on campus.
