Seriously? Way to be the epitome of everything that is wrong with the world.

You live in Athens, from which one can assume that you attend the University of Georgia. You then use Daddy's credit card to buy a dog, which just so happens to be the same as the mascot of your school. And then you name it after a coach that the school is famous for.

Way to go. You win all of the internets for your orginality. Please don't procreate.

What's wrong with getting a dog that's the mascot of your school? I can't come up with a reason.

I doubt they were striving for originality in the choice of their dog.

And, honestly, how would you know how they paid for it? Don't assume.

Try to not be so rude. You might get more friends that way. :)

Because I'm going to make more friends by not calling out someone on something so completely choadly as having a white bulldog named Dooley in Athens, Ga.

And if they have a white bulldog in Georgia, they obviously don't have enough personality to buy it themselves. Daddy must have.

At least I hope so. Because if someone actually spent their own money on it, they ought to be put out of their misery.

PLEASE try to understand, if you don't know white bulldogs are way over bred especially in GA, which means they have a multitude of health problems and buying one just encourages these breeders to contine these awful practices just so some stupid student can have some extra attention come football season.

I don't care how they paid for it I just hope they have enough money for all the hearing, vision, hip and breathing problems these pups usually get.

Who would want to encourage the production of puppies that will have to have such hard lives?

Animals from a shelter it will be healthier and the pup will appreciate it so MUCH! Or at least buy an animal for it and not to EXPLOIT it

I hate people who just purchase an animal based on the attention it'll bring them and what it can do for them, its sick try to be liked for you not your puppy!!

Sorry if this is harsh but you don't know how many white bull dogs there will be at the pound come the end of football season and as a True animal lover I hate to see it!

Man, lay off. It's a cute puppy and a cute photo. It's kind of asinine to assume that the dog will be dumped at the end of a football season. Besides, how can you live in Athens, get a bulldog, and not name it after something connected to UGA? It's kind of part of the package, don't you think? Naming your damn dog doesn't have to be an exercise in creativity.

I think what is wrong with the world is everyone judging everybody else and being up in their business about silly things like a dog and its name.

Wow, so even though you make some valid points you make yourself look like a complete ass by assuming that this bulldog was purchased just so "some stupid student can have some extra attention come football season." You then do this again when you make the assumption that this person bought their bulldog just to "EXPLOIT it." You know nothing about this person, I know nothing about this person, and by making off the wall assumptions you have ruined any credibility that you may have had. Everyone is now going to look at your post and figure that you are just some out of touch nut. And to the person who said "you don't know how many white bulldogs will be at the pound come the end of football season..." are you serious? You honestly think these people spend between one and two thousand dollars just to drop the dog off at the pound come the end of football season? That's absurd and even if it was true I've got a feeling that in this town there would be no shortage of people lining up to take them away. Actually, I wouldn't mind a free two thousand dollar dog myself and yes I have the money to take care of it and no none of it comes from mommy and daddy. So, why don't you just let me know when the pound starts filling up with white bulldogs and I will be the first in line to come pick one up.

I agree. Id take a free bulldog from a shelter any day! I've been looking for a dog for some time now I just haven't found the one for me. I've checked multiple shelters across the state of georgia for a bulldog. They are pretty rare to find if you ask me! So "Mr. Concerned Vet" and "lovin them 4 them" please let me know if you happen to find one!

Plus, who said that the person who posted this pic is a student here? It could very well be someone's parents dog who are bulldog fans. Both my parents went to UGA and would love to have a bulldog, they just dont want to spend the money on one!

As not many parents go on overseeninathens.com, have cement bulldog figurines in their house, wear rainbow sandals (see the background of the pic), or for that matter live in whistleberry I think its pretty safe to assume a student posted this.

p.s. good luck finding the dog for you and you may want to try petfinder.com

another good site is - http://www.athenspets.net/adoptables.html - all of the dogs on this site are up for rescue in Athens.

You're sooo right... The fact that they live in athens and bought a white bulldog puppy, during football season, AND thay named it Dooley is probably TOTALLY a coincidence... WTF?!

As for the other thing I don't know about bulldogs at the pound but I have seen lapping up beer at keg parties, fed every kind of tailgate food imaginable and dragged all through North campus on sweltering dogs which clearly is NOT in the dog's best interest, so obviously their owner is doing it for other reasons.

I get what you're saying, that doesn't mean that it applies to this picture or the people who have the dog. You're talking to someone who has TWO pound puppies. I doubt most people are going to go pay for a bulldog just for attention...especially students.

On top of that, what do you think happens to all the dogs that don't get sold by these terrible breeders? At least some of them come by a real home this way.

Also, if your message was so important, I'd think you'd at least be able to type it out more than once instead of copy and paste spamming it.

Agreed. I don't find the genetic train wreck that is the modern day English Bulldog to be all that cute anyway.
And I can't think of a less fitting mascot for a school with a reputable football team.

I volunteered at the Athens shelter for a couple years and if we ever had a bulldog, they were often the first to be adopted because of the pride people feel in their school. Boo to your poor and unbacked assumption. And I HIGHLY doubt you are a real vet. Probably some vet school reject. Most educated animal lovers know that it is puppy mills and unlicensed breeders who exploit the breeds, not people who research and adopt their animals.
